Honda CBR 1000 RR
The Technik Museum Sinsheim has grown by one dynamic exhibit: the IDM - Superbike Honda CBR 1000 RR. None other than Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher started on this bike for the team Holzhauer Racing Promotion (HRP) from Wittenberge under a team competition at Oschersleben. "I never thought it possible that a racecar driver could master a motorcycle so quickly," commented team-mate Martin Bauer, on the driving skills of the world champion on May 17th, 2008 to the news channel N24.
The famous Speed Week in Oschersleben celebrated its tenth anniversary in 2008. To mark the occasion, the organizers shortened the motorcycle race for the first time from 24 to eight hours. As a surprise guest, the race fans were able to enjoy a celebrity: the seven-time Formula 1 World Champion Michael Schumacher. The Technik Museum Sinsheim is proud to present its guests the Superbike of the then 39-year-old. The bright red machine with an engine power of 190 hp has a spot between its four-wheeled racing colleagues within the Formula 1 exhibition found in the museum - but at about 164 kg is significantly lighter than the Ferraris, McLarens and Renaults.
