Rolls-Royce Phantom III

A remarkable feature of this classic Rolls-Royce from 1936 is the landaulet body. This body type is characterized by a spilt roof with a hardtop at the front and a softtop at the rear. Formerly this type of car was popular as state coach since it allowed the aristocratic or political rulers to stand upright in the rear of the car while receiving the hompage of the subjects. Nowadays statesmen rather prefer plated security cars.
